Question
When enforced displacement / settlement is applied, the result of the static load analysis is abnormal.
Answer
When performing analysis with enforced displacement / settlement, the degree of freedom (d.o.f.) at the corresponding node is automatically constrained in the direction of Dz, affecting all load cases.
When performing analysis for enforced displacement / settlement, the d.o.f. in the Dz direction at the node is automatically restrained internally, and then the enforced displacement / settlement is applied.
This restraint condition affects not only the enforced displacement / settlement Load Case, but also all defined Load Cases / Load Combinations. Therefore, the results such as wind loads, moving loads, and other loads may be different from expected.
In this case, if you check 'Constrain DOF associated with Specified Displacement / Settlements by Boundary Group Combinations' in 'Boundary Change Assignment to Load Case / Analysis', internal d.o.f. restraint will only be applied to the boundary condition combinations corresponding to enforced displacement / settlement. If you do not check it, internal d.o.f. restraint will be used for all analysis cases.
1) Enter the Boundary Name including the boundary group to be applied to loads other than enforced displacement / settlement.
2) Assign the Boundary Name to each load by checking the loads in Load Cases & Analysis.
3) Check 'Constrain DOF associated with Specified Displacement / Settlements by Boundary Group Combinations'.
