[CIM/Infor-Base] Why is the Point Library assigned through the Assembly Unit rather than assigning directly in the Base mode?

Question

Why is the Point Library assigned through the Assembly Unit rather than assigning directly in the Base mode?

Answer

While it is possible to assign the Point Library directly at the Base mode if necessary, it is advisable to assign it through the Assembly Unit space. This is because it allows setting the direction or array rules when assigning the Point Library on the path using Constraint Paths and Constraint Points in the Assembly Unit space.

The following is an example of the options for assigning the Point Library in the Assembly Unit mode

Assembly Unit > Assign Library > Point > Alignment  Option

Using the alignment option, we can set the reference axis direction of the objects that are assigned to a Constraint Point or Path created by referring to a Constraint Point that is assigned to the path.

Check On
: Sets the reference axis direction of the object or path to the normal direction at the position of
the Constraint Point placed in the layout.

Check Off
: Base Mode Layout is arranged parallel to the global Y direction.
