Question
What is a Work Type?
Answer
The Work Type defines the construction type and the classification system to form a quantity table by construction type.
The Work Type is a tool that can be used to form a quantity table by construction type in the user environment.
The work type consists of a Structure function and a Field function.
Structure function
: This function sets up a classification system so that all types of objects provided by CIM can have a hierarchical
structure.
Field function
: This function sets up the specifications according to the object’s material type.
Therefore, CIM can make an aggregate table of quantity calculations for each material/material based on the
model created.
Step 1. Work Type Configuration.
Figure. 1 Work Type Configuration |
ㆍThis is the setting method for calculating the quantity of the bridge substructure model in Figure. 1.
Base mode > Property > Work Type
① Base mode > Property > Work Type
Work Type is a tool that configures the quantity calculation form and sets the quantity calculation
range system.
Click Work Type to go to the setup process for Structure and Field.
② Base mode > Property > Work Type > Structure
This tool creates a structural system for the quantity calculation form.
[This is the same as the sheet structure that is created in Excel.]
③ Base mode > Property > Work Type > Field
This feature sets the Work Type and standard based on the object type that shows in the quantity
calculation sheet.
Step 2. Describes the process used to enter the Structure of the Work Type.
As shown in the figure below, the explanation proceeds with an example that constitutes the substructure
[Abutment/Pier]
Figure. 2 Structure Classification System |
The quantity calculation range of structures can be specified through the structure classification system in Figure 2. The classification system can be customized and input.
The example in the figure above was created based on bridge-substructure.
Level 1 – 1 Bridge Construction
[This is Level 1 classification for bridge work.]
Level 2 - 1.1 Water Bridge
[This is Level 2 classification for defining the bridge name.]
Level 3 - 1.1.1 Superstructure construction
[This is Level 3 classification for the bridge structure, where a subsystem can be added.]
Level 3 - 1.1.2 Substructure construction
[This is Level 3 classification for the bridge structure that can be entered into the structure property.]
Level 4 - 1.1.2.1 Starting Pier – 1.1.2.1.1 Abutment body 1.1.2.1.2 Abutment wing
[This is Level 4 classification for the bridge structure subsystem.]
Level 4 - 1.1.2.3 Pier 1 – 1.1.2.3.1 Coping 1.1.2.3.2 Column, 1.1.2.3.3 Foundation
[This is Level 4 classification for the bridge structure subsystem.]
Step 3. Describes the process used to enter the Field of the Work Type.
The setting under Work Type > Fieldsets the quantity related construction type and standards using the model’s property information.
Figure. 3 Field Construction Structure (Concrete) |
If we take the Field Construction Structure (Concrete)in Figure 3. as an example,
ㆍEnter and select [ Strength / Material ]
In the concrete field, enter the name as Strength and select Material for the Field Type to use the material properties.
ㆍEnter and select [ Pour / User Defined ]
Enter the name as ‘Pouring’ and select User Defined for the Field Type.
If User Defined is selected, enter a name value (Ex. Concrete pump car pouring (0~15m))
under Items to add a tag in the quantity calculation.
Figure. 4 Field Construction Structure (Rebar) |
If we take the Field Construction Structure (Rebar)in Figure 4. as an example,
ㆍEnter and select[ Strength / Grade ]
In the rebar material field, enter the name as Strength and select Grade for the Field Type to use the rebar strength properties.
ㆍEnter and select [ Diameter / Diameter ]
In the rebar material field, enter the name as Diameter and select Diameter for the Field Type.
[Each rebar according to diameter is accounted for in the quantity calculation form.]
ㆍEnter and select [ Assembly Process / User Defined ]
If User Defined is selected, enter the name of the item required for rebar assembly process.
Step 4. Describes the Material Settings.
Material information of each model object can be entered and modified.
For example, as shown in the figure above, the name of the concrete is changed and will be changed accordingly in the quantity calculation form.
Figure. 5 Material Settings (1) |
When entering the material as shown in Figure. 5,
① Select Tool Under Base mode > Property > Material
② Select the Material Type on the left side of CIM. In the example above, Concrete Type is set.
Figure. 6 Material Settings (2) |
When entering the material as shown in Figure. 6,
③ Select the Standard Code for the Material Type on the left side of CIM.
In the example above, C24 of KS01(KCI-2012) is selected.
Figure. 7 Material Settings (3) |
When entering the material as shown in Figure. 7,
④ Change the name value on the left side of CIM.
In the example above, 25-24-15 was entered for the Aggregate Dimension - Material Strength -
Slump.
The material name change described above is not required and is for use guide.
Step 5. Describes the process used to enter the quantity calculation property information into the CIM model using the animation below.
The animation shows the process of using the Assign Tool to quickly enter the property information into the model (member).
The animation below shows the following.
1. Check the Structure and Field inputs of the Work Type settings described above.
2. Invoke the WorkTree.
3. Modify Point Library - Abutment (A1).
4. Assign > All Object > Structure : After entering the classification system for the quantity
calculation, select and apply the model (member).
5. Enter the Field for the reference object.
6. Assign > All Object > Field : Apply Matchprop the reference object field to the target object.
7. Check the data input for the member.
The user can configure the aggregation format for the user environment by applying the above.
Please refer to the Quantity Table below for the next step in calculating the quantity.
