Question
When calculating the concrete breaking strength (Vb), the coefficients in the formula do not change.
Answer
The "basic concrete failure strength (Vb) of a single anchor subjected to shear in cracked concrete", which is the first thing you need to find in order to perform a concrete failure review of anchors, has a different application factor depending on the anchor installation.
A) For a typical anchor
B) Formulas for pre-installed headstuds, headbolts or hook bolts continuously welded to steel appurtenances with a minimum thickness of 10 mm and equal to 1/2 the anchor diameter are described below.
fck : Design basis compressive strength of concrete
ca1 : Distance from center of anchor shaft to end of concrete in shear direction(mm)
da : Anchor's outer diameter(mm)
le : The bearing resistance length of the anchor against shear force(mm)
The support evaluation function of the Seismic Performance Evaluation option automatically determines the applied formula based on the installation status and anchor type. b) For items that are not inputted, such as the welding status of the condition, options are provided to control them, and the function shown in the figure below must be enabled to apply the formula for that condition.
[ Anchor Evaluation Dialog Box ]
If you enable that option to output the evaluation and report, you can see that the coefficient has changed to 0.7, as shown in the figure below.
