[CIVIL] How should I use Bearing&Girder Center Length Sum. in Evaluation Parameter?

Question

How should I use Bearing&Girder Center Length Sum. in Evaluation Parameter?

Answer

The effective height of the pier is typically calculated as the height from the bottom of the column to the coping in the case of cantilevered behavior, and if more than two rows of supports are resisting, the distance from the top of the coping to the center of the girder should be added to the effective height, as shown in the figure below.

Kentilever Behavior of Piers Support 1 row resistance

Kentilevered behavior of piers Resist 2 or more rows of supports

Since the Evaluation Group stores information for coping elements and column elements, the Bearing&Girder Center Length Sum. This field contains the sum of the bearing height and the distance to the girder center.

For the pedestal height, you can use Query (shortcut F4) to find the distance between the two vertices of the pedestal link, and the distance from the bottom of the girder to the city center can be found as Czm in the Section Property of the girder section corresponding to the pedestal location.
