Export

Function

Model data can be exported to MIDAS Civil's text data format (.mct file) or the modeling geometry can be exported to AutoCAD's .dxf file.

Call

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [MIDAS CIVIL MCT File]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [MXT File(for MIDAS FEA/MIDAS GTS)]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [Nodal Results (for MIDAS GTS)]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [AutoCAD DXF File]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [Frame Section for Solid]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [Frame Section for Plate]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [IDEA File]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [IDEA Steel Connection]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [IFC File]

From the main menu, select [File] > [Export] group > [MIDAS CIVIL NX JSON File]

Input

Civil MCT File

Save the model data as a fn.MCT text file of midas Civil.

syntax format comments

Choose an option of including/excluding the syntax format comments in MCT file.

MCT file with syntax format comments

MCT file without syntax format comments

NOTE.png When exporting to a Text Format (MCT) file, the user now has an option of including/excluding the syntax format comments.

MXT File (for FEA/GTS NX)

Save the model data as a fn.MXT text file. midas Civil data such as node, element, properties, boudaries, loads, and analysis control data can be transferred to midas FEA/GTS.

NOTE.png Cross-sections data that are not supported in midas FEA are imported as user-type section. Cable elements are imported as truss elements.

Nodal Results (for GTS NX)

This function allows users to export nodal results (reactions or displacements) from midas Civil to GTS NX. This menu is only activated in the post-processing mode. Reaction results of midas Civil will be converted as nodal loads in the opposing direction (FX, FY, FZ, MX, MY, MZ) in midas GTS NX. Displacement results of midas Civil will be converted as specified displacement (Dx, Dy, Dz) in midas GTS NX.

Target Nodes

All (By Supports, Point Spring, Specified Displacement)

Reactions will be exported at the nodes with support, point spring support boundary conditions defined according to the construction stage and load case/combination chosen by the user. Displacements will be exported at all selected nodes.

Selected Nodes

It allows users to select specific nodes for export.

Select Load Case & Direction

Stage : select a construction stage

Load Cases/Combination : select a load case or load combination

Step : select a step within a construction stage

Results Type : Reaction or Displacements

Results Component : Reactions (All, FX, FY, FZ, MX, MY, MZ) / Displacements (All, DX, DY, DZ)

AutoCAD DXF File

Save the model data as an AutoCAD DXF file.

Frame Section for Soild

By using frame section information, create a solid geometry file that can be exported to midas FEA NX.

Target Elements : Select frame elements to be exported. If any selected element is assigned in Tapered Section Group, "Convert to Tapered Section" must be preceded before the selection.

Division in element : Enter the number of division in one element. It is recommended to increase the number of division if there is any significant changes in tendon profile.

Tendon Profile : Exported Tendon information together with frame section information.

Frame Section for Plate

By using frame section information, create a surface geometry file that can be exported to midas FEA NX.

Target Element for Detail Geometry Model : Select frame elements to be exported.

Sub Frame Element : Elements selected as Sub Frame Element are connected as frame elements at centroid. Cross-sectional constant are saved as Value Type.

Specific Displacement : Displacement of selected load cases/combinations are inputted as enforced displacement in a detailed analysis model. Enforced displacement can be applied only after analysis is completed.

IFC File

Save the model data as an IFC file.

NOTE.png

IFC file contains only geometry data such as section data, element type, and element dimension. It does not contains loads, boundary conditions, and analysis control data.

Section types excepting for SRC section, Hollow section, and Tapered sections are supported. SRC section, Hollow section, and Tapered sections are displayed as 1D line without section shape. Composite type section will be excluded in IFC file.

Section data includes only section shape and section dimension. It does not support section properties or DB name.
