[Structure] Why is the Diaphragm center displayed at one corner and not at the center of mass?

Question

Why is the Diaphragm center displayed at one corner and not at the center of mass?

Answer

Weight of the structure has to converted to mass, in order that the Diaphragm centre to be at mass

Upon defining the Story Data, GEN considered Story Diaphragm by default. So when the Mass data of the structure is not defined then the Origin is considered as the Diaphragm centre instead of Mass centre.

In order to convert weight to mass, from the main menu select Structure > Structure type and choose ‘Convert Self Weight onto Mass’. To convert other loads to mass go to Load > Loads to Mass and choose the loads with corresponding factor.

To display the Story Diaphragm go to View > Display > Boundary > Story diaphragm
