How to check whether the diaphragm effect is being considered?
Answer
When the Slab is not modelled, the Diaphragm effect is considered by default when the Story Data is defined.
From the main menu go to Structure > Control data > Story > Auto-Generate Story Data
On clicking on ‘OK’ , the Story Data is generated along with the consideration for ‘Floor Diaphragm’ on all the floors, that do not have Slab physically modelled.
‘Consider’ floor diaphragm implies a Rigid Diaphragm connectivity.
When the Slab elements for a particular floor is modelled, Rigid Diaphragm action need not be considered instead choose ‘Do not consider’ for Semi Rigid diaphragm action.
