[GEN/Result]When Deflection Values in the Middle of a Beam Are Not Displayed

Question

In Results > Deformations > Displacement Contour, I sometimes do not see deflection values in the middle section of the beam span. What could be the reason for this, and how can I view displacements/deflections within the span?

Answer

Since the analysis forms an analysis matrix based on the node, Deformations outputs the displacement of the node.

1. The reason you do not see results in the middle section of a member, as shown in [Image-1], is because there are no node in that area.

2. To view detailed analysis results for member displacements/deflections, you should use Model > Element > Divide Elements to divide the member appropriately, as shown in [Image-2]. Create node at the desired locations to output analysis results.

Furthermore, to design a transfer beam supporting upper walls, you can achieve more detailed analysis results by dividing the transfer beam and upper walls as shown in the diagram.
