[GEN/Pushover]When Analysis is Not Performed

Question

Pushover analysis was not performed and an error occurred. What is the solution?

 

Answer

There can be various reasons why Pushover analysis is not being performed, along with corresponding solutions

TOTAL NUMBER OF PUSHOVER HINGES PROPERTIES : 144 (1.079 MBYTES )

TOTAL NUMBER OF PUSHOVER HINGES STATUS : 672 (0.482 MBYTES )

ACCELERATION OR MODE SHAPE TYPE LOAD IS NEED EIGENVALUE ANALYSIS DATA.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR EIGNEVALUE DATA.

1. First, If you encounter such an issue, first open the Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete simultaneously and navigate to the Processes tab. Select FES.exe and click "End Process" in the lower-right.
2. If you select Uniform Acceleration as the Load Pattern when creating a Pushover Load Case, the above error may occur.
해당 Load Pattern을 이용하여 Pushover 해석을 수행하기 위해서는 Eigenvalue 해석을 수행 하셔야 합니다.

- In the Main Menu Analysis Tab > Click Eigenvalue > Eigenvalue Analysis Control Dialog Box Settings

- Add Load to Mass for the self-weight and applied loads of the structure.

- After conducting the elastic analysis, you can proceed with Pushover analysis.

 

ERROR: inelastic shear component is equal to 0.0 in a beam element : AY = 0.0.

This error can occur for two reasons
First, The hinge properties for the shear component are defined, but the section does not account for shear deformations.
Second, Hinge data for shear degree of freedom has not been defined.
Review these two aspects, and once you address them, the analysis should proceed as expected.
