[GEN/Pushover]When Yielding Occurs at Initial Loading in Trilinear Hinge Analysis

Question

During Pushover analysis, there are instances where it yields at the Initial Loading (when the Pushover Hinge Type is set to Trilinear). Can I just ignore it?

Answer

When the Pushover Hinge Type is set to Trilinear, yielding at the 1st Yield can be disregarded.
This represents cracking and is permissible for gravity loads during design.
However, the 2nd Yield should not be ignored. The 2nd Yield indicates that the current moment exceeds the ultimate moment capacity, signifying a state where the structure can no longer resist external forces.
