Pushover Hinge Status Results

Function

  • Check the hinge status (Ductility, Deformation, Force, Status of yielding) resulting from the Pushover analysis in Contours.

Call

From the main menu, select [Poshover] tab > [Pushover Results] group > [Hinge Status Result]

Input

Pushover-pushover results-pushover hinge status result.png

Pushover Hinge Status Result dialog box

Pushover Load Case Name

Select a desired load case, load combination entered in Pushover Load Cases.

Step : Specify the step for which the analysis results are to be produced.

Increment Function

Select the load increment function to use.

Type of Result

Hinge Status : inelastic hinge condition

Represents the level by the 5 levels defined in the inelastic hinge property.

Ductility Factor (D/D1) : Ratio of the displacement to the 1st yielding displacement at the corresponding step

Ductility Factor (D/D2) : Ratio of the displacement to the 2nd yielding displacement at the corresponding step

Deformation

Plastic Deformation : Plastic deformation (total deformation – yielding deformation)

Force

Status of Yielding : Hinge status for Bilinear/Trilinear type hinge.

NOTE.png Based on the assigned yielding strengths in Define Pushover Hinge Properties, the hinge status is classified as follows:
- Bilinear: Linear, 1st Yielding strength, 2nd Yielding strength
- Trilinear: Linear, 1st Yielding strength, 2nd Yielding strength, 3rd Yielding strength
If the pushover hinge is a Distributed type, hinge status is classified by element's color. (Linear : Blue, 1st Yield: Green, 2nd Yield : Red).

Status of Yielding(FEMA) : Hinge status for FEMA type hinge.

NOTE.png FEMA : Linear, IO(Immediate Occupancy), LS(Life Safety), CP(Collapse Prevention), Collapse

Components

Select the desired member force component:

Dx : Axial component in the element's local x-direction

Dy : Shear component in the element's local y-direction

Dz : Shear component in the element's local z-direction

Rx : Torsional component about the element's local x-axis

Ry : Bending moment component about the element's local y-axis

Rz : Bending moment component about the element's local z-axis

Type of Value

Positive : Display the maximum positive displacement

Negative : Display the minimum negative displacement

Abs Max. : Display the absolute maximum displacement

OK : Apply the entered options and close the dialog box.

Cancel : Close the dialog box without applying the entered options.
