Function
-
Execute MCT (midas Civil Text) format commands to enter the model data.
-
The user may find it more convenient to directly enter the modeling data via an MCT file, which is later incorporated into the modeling data. In lieu of creating a data file solely in GUI environment, the use of MCT may come in handy at times. Type in the nodal coordinates, material properties, section data, specified displacements and design parameters.
Call
From the main menu, select [Apps] tab > [MCT] group > [MCT Command Shell]
Input
MCT Command Shell
: Open an MCT file.
: Save the revision as an MCT file.
Command or Data
Select the command to be executed.
Insert Command
Arrange the parameters used in the selected command according to the entry format in the command window.
The above figure shows the entry of material data by selecting *Material followed by clicking Insert Command.
To incorporate the material data into the modeling data, enter the parameters in the specified format in the command window and click Run at the bottom. The entries in the command window are then executed and reflected in the model data.
Refer to "MCT File Quick Reference" for details concerning the MCT command.
Insert Data
Display the contents of the current model data related to the selected command in the command window. Insert Data can be very effective when the model data are to be modified "en bloc". Modify add to the data and click Run to update the existing data for new model data.
The method of handling duplicate or multiple data entries differs depending on the type of data.
Loads or support conditions are accumulated by adding the entered data to the existing ones. The data for the geometric shapes of the model and related nodes, elements, materials and sections are replaced by new data.
Delete Data
Delete the contents entered in the current model data for the selected command.
Run
Execute the contents entered in the command window and add to the model data.
Clear
Delete the contents entered in the command window.
