[CIM/Base] If the CIM program is unable to save and is closed due to an error during operation, can the restored file be used?

Question

If the CIM program is unable to save and is closed due to an error during operation, can the restored file be used?

Answer

When the CIM program is forcibly terminated during use, a file called "restored" is automatically created.

However, the restored file does not function as a backup file; it does not contain the complete modeling information but only the minimal necessary information.

Therefore, if the program is terminated during work in the Base Mode, you can check the restored file and use it if there are no issues. However, if the program was terminated during work in the Library Mode, it is recommended not to use the restored file.

CIM consists of five library modes: User Section Mode, Point Library Mode, Curve Library Mode, Assembly Unit Mode, and Base Mode.

Among them, saving files is only possible in the Base Mode. File saving is not possible in the other modes. Therefore, even when working in the Library Mode, please regularly save files in the Base Mode to prevent data and information loss for the ongoing work.
