Function
- Define the reinforcement for the irregular section to be used for the irregular section check (column) in Column Checking. The reinforcement details for longitudinal reinforcement as well as hoop reinforcement can be provided.
Call
From the main menu, select [Design] tab > [Type : RC Design] > [Rebar] group > [Rebar Input for Checking] > [Column General Section]
Input
New for Civil 2011
First, select the members in the model and enter the following data:
Section
Section name : Select the section for which the reinforcement details have to be provided. Here only the irregular sections (imported from SPC) can be seen and selected.
Origin Type : Select the placement of the origin.
Centroid : For Defining the origin at the centroid of the section
Left – Bottom : For defining the origin at the left bottom of the section.
Rebar
Type
Point : Select point type for defining the reinforcement at a particular point in the section.
Centre Point(y,z) : Enter the centre point of the reinforcement bar
Dia : Enter the diameter of the reinforcement bar
Update : Click update to update a previously entered reinforcement bar
Create : Click create to define a new reinforcement bar
Delete : Click delete to delete a reinforcement bar
Linear : Select Linear for defining the reinforcement bars in a straight line,
Starting Point(y,z) : Specify the starting point of the line
End Point(y,z) : Specify the end point of the line
Number of rebars : Specify the number of rebars to be created on the line
Dia : Specify the diameter of the reinforcement bar
Update : Click update to update a previously entered reinforcement bar
Create : Click create to create the rebars following the line pattern
Delete : Click delete to delete a reinforcement bar
(1) The reinforcement bars specified in this format will appear as point rebars in the table. Hence they would not appear as a group.
(2) The reinforcement bars can only be defined one single diameter for a particular line. But the diameter can be change manually after the creation of the rebars. From the drop down menu of the Rebar in the table select the diameter and click update.
Circular : Select circular for specifying the circular or the arc pattern of the reinforcement.
Starting Point(y,z) : Specify the starting point of the arc
Center of Arc(y,z) : Specify the centre of the arc
Central angle of the arc : Specify the central angle of the arc which is defined as:
Number of Rebars : Specify the number of reinforcement bars to be specified in the circular pattern
Dia : Specify the diameter of the rebars
Update : Click update to update a previously entered reinforcement bar
Create : Click create to create the rebars following the circular pattern
Delete : Click delete to delete a reinforcement bar
(1) The reinforcement bars specified in this format will appear as point rebars in the table. Hence they would not appear as a group.
(2) The reinforcement bars can only be defined one single diameter for a particular arc. But the diameter can be change manually after the creation of the rebars. From the drop down menu of the Rebar in the table select the diameter and click update.
Hoop Rebar
Specify the shear reinforcement in the column having the general section
Set Data
Space on X-Dir : Specify the centre to centre distance of the shear reinforcement in the X direction
Number on Y – Dir : Specify the Number of Legs (1 Legged, 2 legged…) in Y direction
Number on Z – Dir : Specify the number of Legs(1 Legged,2 Legged…..) in the Z direction
Dia : Specify the diameter.
