Design Criteria for Rebars

Function

  • Enter the standard sizes of rebars used in the shell design.

 

Call

From the main menu, select [Design] tab > [Type : RC Design] > [Mesh] group > [Meshed Design] > [Design Criteria for Rebars]

 

 

Input

For Shell Design

Enter the standard rebar sizes, the spacing of rebars and covers used in the shell design.

Rebar : Standard rebar sizes used for the shell design

Spacing : Spacing of rebars used for the shell design

Concrete Face to Center of Rebar (dT, dB)

Dir. 1 : Cover thickness of direction 1 Rebar for top and bottom layer

Dir. 2 : Cover thickness of direction 2 Rebars for top and bottom layer

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design

If you Check off the option, the default thickness of each outer layers is applied as the 20% of element thickness. If you Check on the option, the layer thickness is determined by the program to provide optimum design results.

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design = Check off

Top Layer Thickness : Enter the thickness of top layer. Two times of cove to rebar center is recommended.

Bottom Layer Thickness : Enter the thickness of bottom layer. Two times of cove to rebar center is recommended.

 

Consider Iteration for Optimal Design = Check on

Limit Thickness of Top Layer : Enter the maximum thickness of top layer.

Limit Thickness of Bottom Layer : Enter the maximum thickness of bottom layer.

Number of Iteration : Enter the maximum number of iterations.

Convergence Tolerance : Enter the Convergence Tolerance value.
