SLS Stress Verification Table

Function

  • Generate a table summarizing the structural adequacy for the stress limit checks based on the assessment checks for SLS.

Call

From the main menu, select [Rating] tab > [Type : Steel Bridge] > [Assessment Code : CS454/20] > [Results] group > [Assessment Result Tables] > [SLS Stress Verification]

Input

Element : Element ID

Part : The i- or j-end of the element, giving the Node ID at that end in square brackets [Node ID]

Section Type : Compact or noncompact

Rating Case : The relevant Load Combinations for Assessment. Assessment check is performed for 12 sets of concurrent forces for each load combination.

Load Effect : Indicates whether the bending moment is positive (sagging) or negative (hogging).

TF_left : The stress for the steel upper flange at the top-left.

TF_right : The stress for the steel lower flange at the top-right.

Stress Limit : SLS stress limits for the steel upper flange of a girder.

BF_left : The stress for the steel upper flange at the bottom-left.

BF_right : The stress for the steel lower flange at the bottom-right.

Stress Limit : SLS stress limits for the steel lower flange of a girder.

Rebar : The stress for the reinforcements at the extreme fiber.

Stress Limit : SLS stress limits for the reinforcements in a concrete slab.

A : Structural Adequacy – calculated as the stress limit divided by the applied stress, taken as the worst from the compression and tension case.

Check : An overall indication whether the section passed all checks and is OK or Not Good (NG)
