Function
Execute MGT (midas Gen Text) format commands to enter the model data.
The user may find it more convenient to directly enter the modeling data via an MGT file, which is later incorporated into the modeling data. In lieu of creating a data file solely in GUI environment, the use of MGT may come in handy at times. Type in the nodal coordinates, material properties, section data, specified displacements and design parameters.
Call
From the Main Menu select [Apps] tab > [MGT] group > [MGT Command Shell]
Shortcut key : Ctrl+[F12]
Input
The Open button : Open an MGT file.
The Save button : Save the revision as an MGT file.
Command or Data
Select the command to be executed.
The Insert Command button
Arrange the parameters used in the selected command according to the entry format in the command window.
The above figure shows the entry of material data by selecting *Material followed by clicking the Insert Command button.
To incorporate the material data into the modeling data, enter the parameters in the specified format in the command window and click the Run button at the bottom. The entries in the command window are then executed and reflected in the model data.

The Insert Data button
Display the contents of the current model data related to the selected command in the command window. The Insert Data button can be very effective when the model data are to be modified "en bloc". Modify add to the data and click the Run button to update the existing data for new model data.
Note
The method of handling duplicate or multiple data entries differs depending on the type of data.
Loads or support conditions are accumulated by adding the entered data to the existing ones. The data for the geometric shapes of the model and related nodes, elements, materials and sections are replaced by new data.
The Delete Data button
Delete the contents entered in the current model data for the selected command.
The Run button
Execute the contents entered in the command window and add to the model data.
The Clear button
Delete the contents entered in the command window.
