Advanced Data Input Methods

1. Table Type

 Midas GH supports the Table Type input method. When multiple data, such as cross-sections, need to be entered at once, the Table Type input method allows for straightforward input of specifications.

To open the Table Type input window, double-click on the icon at the center of the component.


 Once inputted into the Table Type component, the component recognizes the content entered in the Table as the default value.

 

 By using the default input method, connecting components between the components, the values are applied first. Therefore, after setting the default values ​​through Table Type, you can change only the desired data values.

 

2. Multi Data Input

 Like Grasshopper, Midas GH allows for Multi Data input. Basic Multi Data is affected by the number of items. To input multiple items, use Multiline Data format in the Panel or use the Merge component.
 

 

 It also adopts the basic forms of Grasshopper, such as Branch and item. Therefore, multiple data is inputted depending on the relationship between items and Branches.

 

3. Get Property

 The data entered in modeling is not always fixed. For example, when adding loads, if the shape or number of elements in the model changes, inputting changing data every time is inefficient.

 Therefore, Midas GH has created a component called Get Property to solve such problems. The Get Property component can be described as a component that extracts the data values entered in the existing Midas components.

 This extraction method allows users to see changing data values in real-time without manually checking the data each time.
