Artificial Earthquake Correlation Checker

Intro

For artificial earthquakes, the coefficient between waves should not exceed 0.16 accordint to KDS design code.

This plug in calculate the correlation coefficient between the artificial earthquakes (Time History Function) in midas Civil.

Version

  • v1.0.0 : Release

Applicable Standards

  • Korean Standard (KDS)

Benefits of this plugin

Typically, we use Excel to calculate correlation coefficients from time-acceleration data.

This plugin can quickly review the correlation coefficient by selecting the Time History Function, and the results can be checked in a table format.

How to use this plugin?

  1. Time History Functions
Gets the currently loaded Time History Functions, which can be updated via the Referesh button.
Select the Time History Functions for which you want to review the correlation coefficients.

  2. Correlation Coeeficient Target
Enter an upper bound for the correlation coefficient. The default value is 0.16.

  3. Calculate
Click the Calculate button to calculate the correlation coefficient.
    The results can be found in the table on the bottom right, and here's how to check the results;

  • Blue value : The correlation coefficient is less than the limit.
  • Red value : The correlation coefficient is greater than the limit.
  • NG : The correlation coefficient cannot be calculated because the number of data in the Time History Function is not equal.

Note

The correlation coefficients of artificial earthquake waves are calculated according to the KDS 17 10 00 Seismic Design General code.

Conclusion

Calculate correlation coefficients from Time History Function data.
