Intro
This plugin selects Master Nodes and Slave Nodes as a group and creates a Rigid Link to the Slave Node closest in distance to the Master Node.
-
When creating an unequally spaced Rigid Link, you do not need to enter a Distance value to create the Rigid Link.
-
A Rigid Link is created from the Master Node to the closest Slave Node.
-
This is useful in superstructure modeling, where Frame elements and Plate elements are connected by rigid links.

Benefits of this plugin
To create a Rigid Link in midas Civil, select a Master Node and then select the exact Slave Node to be connected. Also, to create an unequal spacing Rigid Link, you need to enter the exact spacing through the 'Copy Rigid Link' function.
This plugin can create a Rigid Link without selecting Master Nodes and then selecting Slave Nodes one by one or entering unequal spacing.
How to use this plugin?
[Rigid link connection between girder and slab]
[Selection of master and slave nodes]
[Input UI]
- Select the Master Node
Select the nodes that will become Master Nodes. After selecting the nodes in midas Civil, click on the 'Select Master Nodes' field in the plug in to enter the corresponding nodes. In the example above, the nodes corresponding to the girders are selected. - Select the Slave Node
Select the Slave Nodes that will be connected to the Master Node. It is not necessary to select the exact Slave Nodes; in the example above, the entire Slab element is selected - Link Property
Select Properties for Rigid Link, which is the same as in the midas Civil. - Apply
Click the Apply Button to create a Rigid Link from the Master Node to the closest Node in the Slave Node group
Conclusion
This is useful when modeling a superstructure, for example, when modeling a girder as a beam element and a slab as a plate element.
A Rigid Link is created with the closest node to the Master Node.
