Parameter Created Edited

Link

Summary

  • Use the Parameter (Link) function to establish a link between the dimension and the parameter.
  • Change the shape of a user-defined section (User Section) by changing the parameter values in the table.

How to Run

[User Section Mode]

  • Ribbon Menu > [User Section] Tab > [Parametric Tools] Group > Parameter > Link
  • Ribbon Menu > [User Section] Tab > [Parametric Tools] Group > Parameter > Edit
  • Select the reference line on the screen

Explanation

Interoperability between length parameter and dimension

Set up interoperability between length, parameter and dimension.

[Link Parameter to Dimension]

Target Name : Displays the name of the dimension.

Parameter Name : Sets dimension value of Dimension and the parameters to link.

Note
Only parameters with the type set to Length can be linked with Dimension.

Note
The parameter must be defined first to establish a link between the dimension and the parameter.

Change the Length Parameter Value to Change the User-Defined Section Shape.

Changes the length parameter value to change the user-defined section shape.

Table

Type : Set the type of parameter.

Parameter Name : Enter the name of the parameter.

Variable Name : Enter the name of the parameter variable.

Equation : If Functional is set to On, the Equation field is activated and the function using the variable name of the base parameter can be entered.

Length : For parameters with type set to "Length", the Length text box is enabled and the length can be entered.

Angle : For parameters with type set to "Angle", the Angle text box is enabled and the length can be entered.

Coordinate : For parameters with type set to "Coordinate", the Length text box is enabled and the coordinates can be entered.

Note
First, the parameter variables must be defined in the Parameter > Edit function and be linked with Dimension through the Parameter > Link function. Then, in the Parameter > Edit function, the section shape of the User Section can be changed by changing the length value.

Interoperability Between Angle Parameters and the Ref. Line

Set up interoperability between angle parameters and the Ref. Line.

Note
Only parameters with the type set to Angle can be linked with the rotation parameter of the Ref. Line.

Note
After linking the parameters, the value for the rotation block cannot be entered manually.

Note
The parameter must be defined first to establish a link between the Ref. Line angle and the parameter.
