[CIM] How can multiple CIM model files be merged into a single file?

Question

How can multiple CIM model files be merged into a single file?

Answer

Follow the steps given below to merge multiple CIM model files in a single model file:

Step-1: In the Base mode of CIM, navigate to the Base ribbon menu

Step-2: Click on Merge option under the Base ribbon

An Open file  dialogue box shall appear on the screen

Step-3: Select the files you want to merge

Step-4: Click on Open button to complete merging process

To demonstrate this functionality, we have used an RC T-Girder Bridge model. In this example, the Sub-structure and Super-structure have been modeled separately. By following Steps 1 to 4 mentioned earlier, we will merge these two files into a single entity.

After clicking on Merge option, we will choose Sub-structure model file from Open CIM file dialogue box

This action will import the Sub-structure model file in the project:

Following the same steps, now we will import the Super-structure model file:

The final result of this process is shown in the image below:

By following these steps, you can efficiently merge multiple CIM model files into one CIM file.
