How to set transparency for concrete members?

 

Answer

Follow the steps given below to set the transparency of concrete members in CIM:

 

Step 1: Navigate to the Base ribbon menu

Step 2: Click on the View option

 

  • Alternatively, press Ctrl+4 key to access the View option

A menu panel shall appear on the left of model window

Step 3: Select the Color Palette option on the top of menu panel

 

Step 4: Go to the Transparency option in the menu panel

 

You will find different material categories, reach out to Concrete sub-section

Step 5: Choose the Mono option from the dropdown

 

A text box shall appear below the dropdown.

Step 6: In the text box, assign any value between 0-1 (Zero to One)

  • Value 0 (zero) = Fully transparent
  • Value 1 (one) = Fully Opaque

Step 7: Click on    Apply button to apply the transparency to model

 

 

For an example, we are having a model with transparency set as 1.

 

Following the steps mentioned above, we changed the transparency of Concrete as 0.5, making the model semi-transparent. A resultant image is shown below:

 

By following steps mentioned above, we can easily change the transparency of concrete as well as any other material type.
