Question
How to define the section shape in user section mode?
Answer
In CIM, to create 3D geometries we use a reference which is later used to extrude a 2D section and convert it to a 3D model. Once the geometry sketch is ready, in the next step we define a reference shape.
This can be found in the interface as shown in the image below.
Lets consider, an example of a rectangle sketched, by using the sketching function in the user section mode, to know more click here.
The image below highlights the sketch in the user section mode of a point library.
Now, with reference of the above, we shall create a face for the shape.
Step 1- Click Section as shown in the image below
Now the Section Shape properties panel shall be displayed, as shown below.
Step 2- Click By Select
Step 3- With cursor cross selection select the sketch from the model space as shown below
Step 4 - Click Add as shown below
Now, Section Shape properties panel displays the reference shape in the list as "Face-1" and the respective 2D shape is displayed in the model space as shown below.
Step 5- Click on the Green tick icon as shown below to apply changes and close the Section Shape mode.
The newly created user section shall be added in the Worktree panel, as shown below.
