What should I do when an error occurs during model creation?

Question

What should I do when an error occurs during model creation?

Answer

If you encounter errors while generating models using Grasshopper components (e.g., Beam, Plate, Solid, Node), please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

Error Recovery Steps

  1. Right-click on the component icon in Grasshopper.

  2. Select Clear Temp Civil NX to remove the temporarily stored data.

  3. Then click Clean & Recalculate Element to regenerate the model with the desired settings.

NOTE

This feature is available in MIDAS GH version 2.0.7 or later.

Best Practices to Prevent Modeling Errors

To minimize the risk of modeling errors, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Ensure a stable internet connection during Grasshopper and CIVIL NX operations.

  2. Do not manually create or modify data in Civil NX while Grasshopper is still processing or before it has sent data.

  3. Whenever possible, run your Grasshopper script in a new Civil NX file to avoid conflicts with existing data.
