How to import a DWG file in CIM?
Answer
In CIM, several options are available to access model data from other software programs. This can be achieved with the help of Import function. One of the Import options available is the DWG (.dwg) file format.
The Import function in CIM can be accessed from the interface as shown in the image below.
Step 1 - Click on the CIM icon.
A sub menu appears in the interface
Step 2 - Click on Import (as shown in the image below)
Now, in the sub menu for import, we find all the available import file format types.
Step 3 - Click on DWG/DXF (as shown in the image below)
Next, in the Open window, choose the (.dwg) file from the path.
Step 4 - Click Open (as shown in the image below)
Now, in the properties panel, the import constraints shall be displayed. Keep the default selection or change as per the output requirement.
Step 5 - Click on the green tick to apply and close the function (as shown in the image below)
The import command is processed and the output in the base mode of CIM is displayed, as shown below.
The DWG (.dwg)file is successfully imported in the CIM model.
