How to export a 3D PDF from CIM?
Answer
In CIM, several options are available to share the models with other software programs. This can be achieved with the help of Export function. One of the export options available is the (.pdf) file format.
The Export function in CIM can be accessed from the interface as shown in the image below.
Step 1 - Click on the CIM icon
A sub menu appears in the interface.
Step 2 - Click on Export (as shown in the image below)
Next, under the Export sub menu, we find all the available export file formats/types
Step 3 - Click on 3D PDF. (as shown in the image below)
Next, the properties panel shall display the export constraints to choose. Keep the default selection or change as per output requirement.
In Select Target - Object selection options, All in Current Mode and Selected objects only are available.
In Categorize Target - Options like None and Structures are available. (useful for isolated selection)
In Level of Detail - The output facet quality can be selected from Very Low Quality to Very High Quality.
In Option - Possibility to choose the special components like rebar, stiffener, tendons, bolts to be converted as a solid is available.
Step 4 - Click on the green tick to apply and close the function (as shown in the image below)
Above image highlights the model used for the 3D PDF file export, in the base mode of CIM.
Next, in the Save as window provide a path and a file name for the output file to be saved.
Step 5 - Click on Save. (as shown in the image below)
The 3D PDF (.pdf) file is successfully exported from the CIM model.
