Question
How to create user-based Rebar Specification in CIM?
Answer
In brief, this can be done by using the Specification option available under the "Rebar" dropdown menu.
In any of the major modes of CIM — like Point Library Mode, Curve Library Mode, Assembly Unit Mode, or Base Mode — simply navigate to:
Model Ribbon > Rebar > Specification option
A menu tile shall appear on the screen where you can add user-defined specification in CIM:
Step 1: Select the specification as New
Step 2: Assign the Name for your specification
Step 3: Add the values to each column as per your requirement
- Name: Enter the Name of your rebar
- Nominal Diameter: Enter the value of your rebar diameter (i.e. 12 mm)
- Bending Radius: Enter the value of Bending radius of your rebar diameter as per your standard
Hook Lengths: Define the Hook Lengths for different type of Hooks.
Note: Hook Length in CIM are considered as a straight portion of rebar after the bend(Hook). Kindly refer to the attached image.
- Weight: Assign the the unit length weight as per your rebar diameter.
Step 4: After assigning all the required data, click on to save the specification into current CIM project.
For demonstration purpose, by following the steps mentioned above, we created a user-based Rebar specification in CIM named as "Midas Spec". Refer to the image attached below:
You can access the defined Rebar specification under the Rebar specification section of Data ribbon in the Work-tree.
