What is the difference between the three 'Align Type' options available in the Curve Library settings?

Answer

When defining the Curve Library Settings, three 'Align Type' options are available:

  1. Tangential
  2. Parallel
  3. Auto

These options determine how the section planes of the curve library are aligned relative to the alignment. The differences between these options become most visible when there is a change in vertical elevation along the alignment.

  • Tangential: Selecting this option aligns the start and end faces of the library perpendicular to the layout.
  • Parallel: This option aligns the start and end faces of the library parallel to the Global Z Direction.
  • Auto: With this option, the start and end faces of the library are also aligned perpendicular to the layout. In most cases, the results of the 'Tangential' and 'Auto' options are very similar.
