[CIM] How to modify the coordinates of a point library in assembly mode

Question

How to modify the coordinates of a point library in assembly mode?

Answer

In CIM, when working in the modelling environment, users may need to modify library elements in the assembly

unit mode. An example of modifying the coordinates of a library of bearings (point library) is highlighted below.

Here, in the assembly library mode multiple libraries are assigned. Now the library for bearing after placement

might require additional offset coordinate value to fit exactly on top of the library for Abutment pad as shown in

the image below.

Now, to modify the bearing coordinates we use the following steps-

Step 1 - In the Assembly unit mode click on the icon to activate the select assigned library function

Now, in the Worktree menu select the properties display option

Step 2 - Click on the icon to activate the properties function

The Properties for the selected library type shall be displayed in worktree menu, to revise the coordinate values

in the properties panel, the sub function Origin Point should be used. This function is available for PLBs

(point libraries) and the coordinates can be controlled in X, Y, Z values of the Cartesian Coordinate system.

Step 3 - Enter the revised value in the Z coordinates window as -3.2m

Now, once the new Z value is entered to apply the property use the green tick as shown below

Step 4 - Click on the Green tick to apply the function and close the command.

Now, we observe that the bearing library is placed exactly on top of the Abutment pad as shown below.

The coordinates modify function is complete.
