How to enable/disable the snapping options in CIM?

 

Answer

Follow the steps below to turn on/off snapping options in CIM:

 

Step 1: In the Base Riboon, go to Global option

[This option is available in all the major modes of CIM, like Point library mode, Curve library mode, Assembly unit mode, and Base mode.]

A menu shall be displayed on the left of modelling window,

Step 2: Turn on/off the required snapping options

Step 3: Click on  to Apply the changes

MiddleSnaps the center of a line.
CenterSnaps the center point of circles, arcs, and planes.
QuadrantSnaps the quadrants of circles, ellipses, and arcs.
NearestSnaps any position on the line closest to the mouse cursor.
IntersectionSnaps intersections between lines or lines and planes.
GridSnaps intersections on the grid.
DivisionSnaps the division position of the edge according to the set number of divisions.
ParallelSnaps in a direction parallel to the 1D Edge.
PerpendicularSnaps in a direction perpendicular or to a location that meets the 1D Edge.
HorizontalSnaps in a direction parallel to the Local-X of the plane.
VerticalSnaps in a direction parallel to the Local-Y of the plane.
TangentSnaps the location tangent to a curved 1D Edge (Circle, Arc).
ExtensionSnaps the location where the extension of the straight 1D Edge meets.
