Explain the basic concept of the Layout option.

 

Answer

In the Base mode of CIM, there is an option called Layout. Using this option, user can create their own Alignment profile based on their requirement.

 

A main-menu panel and a sub-menu panel shall be displayed on the screen. 

In the main-menu panel, following attributes will be displayed:

Name: Assign the name for your layout

Start location: Assign the starting position of the layout

  • Geographic coordinate: Option is available, only if the Geographic coordinates are predefined in the project

  • Origin point (X & Y): Changes the coordinate location for the start point of the layout

  • Initial angle: Assigns the angle (Degree) in the plan view at the start location of the layout

 

Start station: Changes the start point Chainage location without disturbing the start location of the layout

Import layout: Import horizontal and vertical profile in requested formats

 

In the sub-menu panel, following four sections are provided:

Horizontal Alignment: Define and preview the horizontal profile of your layout in the plan view.

Vertical Alignment: Define and preview the horizontal profile of your layout in the plan view.

Segment: Divides your alignment into required divisions/segments

Superelevation: Define the super elevation slope for the right and left side of alignment (in percentage--%)
