How to split the edge in CIM?
Answer
Follow the steps below to split the edge in CIM:
[Note: For demonstration purposes, we have modelled an Edge in the X-Y plane (Top plane) of CIM.]
Step 1: In any mode of CIM, go to the Edit ribbon
Step 2: Click on the Split edge option
A menu panel shall be displayed on the left of the modelling window.
Step 3: Choose the method to split the edge as per the requirement
- Distance: As per the distance entered, the edge would get split from the start point of the edge
- Reverse the direction if you want to split the edge from the endpoint of the edge.
- Ratio: Give the ratio value in the range of (0-1) with reference to the length of edge
- For Example, 0.5 ratio will cut the Edge into half.
- Number of divisions: Divides the edge into equal parts as per the input
- Sub Shape (Face/Edge): Splits edge with reference to the Member's face or Edge
- Body (Sheet/Wire): Splits edge with reference to Body element's face or Edge
- Direct Draw: Draw a cut-line over the edge to split it
Step 4: Using cursor cross selection, select the Edge to be split
[Note: Below the Select Target section, the menu would be updated as per the chosen method.]
Step 5: Click on to Apply the changes
