Thailand DPT Code Auto Searching

Intro

This application is designed to quickly and intuitively search for DPT (Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning) design codes based on the building location (Province and District) in Thailand.

Without the need to manually search through complex design code documents, simply select the building location through an intuitive map-based interface to instantly view design parameters for seismic loads (Seismic Zone, Ss, S1) and wind loads (Wind Zone, Wind Speed, Typhoon Factor) for that region.

Developed with

  • MIDAS GEN NX 2026 (v1.1) US

Applicable standards

  • Thailand DPT (Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning)

Benefits of this plugin

  • Time-Saving: Eliminate the time spent manually searching design code documents and cross-referencing multiple tables with a single click.
  • Accurate Location Matching: Map-based selection ensures accurate matching of Province and District, preventing location errors.
  • Visual Verification: The selected region is visually displayed on the map, making location confirmation intuitive.
  • Bilingual Support: Freely switch between Thai and English for convenient use by both local and international users.

How to use this plugin?

  1. Switch between Thai and English instantly at the left top of the page

  2. Select the Province where the building is located from the left dropdown.

  3. Select the District where the building is located from the right dropdown.

  4. When you select a District, the map will zoom into that District, and the District area will be highlighted in orange.

  5. Check DPT Design Parameters. Beside the map, the following information is displayed in the Detailed Information section

Note

Select Language

Select your preferred language from the "Select Language / เลือกภาษา" dropdown at the top of the screen.

- TH (ไทย): Thai interface
- EN (English): English interface

Select Province (จังหวัด)

Select the Thailand Province

- Choose from 77 Provinces
- Thai mode: Displays Province names in Thai
- English mode: Displays Province names in English

When you select a Province, the map will move to center on that Province, and the entire Province boundary will be displayed in blue.

Select District (อำเภอ)

Select the thailand District

- Only Districts within the selected Province are displayed
- District list is automatically filtered based on Province selection

When you select a District, the map will zoom into that District, and the District area will be highlighted in orange.

Map Display

The map automatically zooms to center on the selected District for accurate location verification.

DPT Design Parameters

Below the map, the following information is displayed in the "ข้อมูลโดยละเอียด / Detailed Information" section:

Seismic Load Design Parameters

- Seismic Zone: Earthquake zone classification
- Ss: Short-period spectral response acceleration coefficient
- S1: 1-second period spectral response acceleration coefficient

 Wind Load Design Parameters

- Wind Zone: Wind speed zone classification (e.g., 4B, 1, etc.)
- Wind Speed: Design wind speed (in m/s)
- Typhoon Factor: Typhoon intensity multiplier (TF)

Conclusion

  •
    • This application provides a comprehensive and user-friendly environment for retrieving Thailand's DPT (Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning) design codes based on geographic location.
    • By combining an intuitive map-based interface with bilingual support and instant parameter retrieval, it ensures transparency and accuracy in the structural design process. Engineers can quickly identify the correct seismic and wind load parameters for any location in Thailand—eliminating the risk of manual lookup errors and significantly reducing the time spent cross-referencing multiple code documents.
    • The seamless workflow from location selection to parameter visualization and data recording significantly reduces manual effort and promotes standardized, reproducible outcomes in structural design for Thailand projects. Whether working on preliminary design or verifying design parameters, this tool serves as a reliable reference for ensuring compliance with Thai building codes.
