Question
How to define construction stage analysis case in CIM?
Answer
Consider that you have already created the members, assigned the boundary conditions and construction stages, then follow the steps mentioned below to create analysis case.
Step 1: Click on the 'Application' ribbon.
Step 2: Click on the 'Analysis Case' ribbon.
Step 3: To create a new analysis case, click on the 'Define' option.
Step 4: For generating an analytical model with construction stages, select the 'Construction Stage Analysis' radio button.
Step 5: Under the Classification section, define the name of the analysis case.
Step 6: Under the 'Construction Stage Set' section, select the construction stage you have already defined from the drop-down list that needs to be exported to CIVIL NX.
Step 7: Select the mesh size for the 1D element using the drop-down list under the 'Mesh Size' option. You can select either the 'Division' or 'Length' option.
Step 8: If you want to export self weight to CIVIL NX, then check on the 'Self Weight' tab.
Step 9: As self weight acts along negative Z-direction, enter the value '-1' in the 3rd cell.
[Note: Here 1st cell represents X-axis, 2nd cell represents Y-axis and 3rd cell represents Z-axis.]
Step 10: Click on the 'Green Tick'.
You can now observe that the Construction Stage analysis case is defined under the Data tab of Worktree.
