Assign Inelastic Hinge Properties

Function

  • You can assign or remove the inelastic hinge properties to/from an element. The inelastic hinge properties can only be assigned to beam elements or truss elements.

Call

From the main menu, select [Properties] tab > [Inelastic Properties] group > [Inelastic Hinge] > [Assign Inelastic Hinge Properties]

Input

Option

Add/Replace : Add new or replace previously defined inelastic hinge properties for the selected elements.

Delete : Delete previously defined inelastic hinge properties for the selected elements.

Element Type

Select a type of elements for which inelastic hinge properties will be assigned.

Truss : Assign inelastic hinge properties to truss elements.

Beam : Assign inelastic hinge properties to beam elements.

Inelastic Hinge Property

You can select the inelastic hinge properties to assign. Therefore, it is necessary to define the nonlinear hinge properties in advance.

Material

The material type entered for the selected inelastic hinge property is displayed.

Member Type

The material type entered for the selected inelastic hinge property is displayed.

Element Position

If the material is RC and the member type is Beam, the location of reinforcing information on the elements entered in the selected inelastic hinge property is displayed.

Section

Section name entered for the selected inelastic hinge property is displayed.

Select All Matching Elements

All the members coinciding the above 4 items are selected on the Model View.

Import Inelastic Hinge Data

Click the Import Inelastic Hinge Data button to import Inelastic Hinge Data from other files.

Data File Name (.mgb)

Click to select the inelastic model.

Inelastic Hinge Properties

Add or replace the inelastic hinge data with the selected data.

Assign Inelastic Hinges

Import "Assign Inelastic Hinges" data.

Initial Element Forces

Import the Initial Element Forces entered in the model.

NOTE.png If the current model has no Initial Element Forces, the imported Initial Element Forces will be added. If the current model has Initial Element Forces, they will be replaced by the imported Initial Element Forces. The presence of Initial Element Forces can be checked from Load > Initial Forces > Small Displacement > Initial Element Force.
