[CIVIL] There are no reaction values occurring at a specific location.

Question

There are no reaction values occurring at a specific location.

I modeled a steel box girder bridge. Everything was modeled as Center-Top. It's a three-span bridge.

There are no reaction values occurring at either the starting or ending points of the bridge.

Why might this be happening?

Answer

Please check if the boundary conditions at those locations are correctly formed.

Usually, when no reactions occur or the values are abnormal, the issue arises due to inappropriate boundary conditions.

There might be instances where the constraints are not set in the desired direction or are not properly connected.

For example, in the case of the bridge below, the link between the support nodes and the bridge girder was missing, so the reaction force was shown as 0. It is recommended to check the boundary conditions and links.
