How to Export Response Spectrum Data of a specific earthquake from CIVIL NX database for further manipulation?
Answer
You can use the "Seismic Data Generator" function in Midas Civil NX to export the response spectrum data and important your manipulated data back in "RS Function".
Follow these steps:
- Open Seismic Data Generator
- Generate the Response Spectrum of your choice in the SGS Window.
- Save the file generated by you.
- Open the file with Notepad or any such similar text editor tool you have. Use "search and replace" feature to replace all commas (",") with spaces (" "). This allows for easy copying of the values in tools like MS Excel.
- Copy the values and paste them into Excel for further manipulation. Or use any other tool of your choice.
- Copy the two columns of time period (sec) and Spectral Data (g) of modified response spectra from your excel file.
- Now you can important your modified response spectra by pasting them in the table as shown in the below figure
