Tendon Primary Force (Design Strip)

Function

Displays the prestress-induced primary force effects along the selected design strips for short-term and long-term load cases.

Call

From the Main Menu

select [Post Tension] tab > [Analysis] group > [Analysis Result Table] > [Tendon Primary Force (Design Strip)]

Input

Records Activation Dialog

Design Strip: Select the design strip(s) for which the tendon primary force results are to be displayed.

All: Select all available design strips.

None: Clear the current design strip selection.

Inverse: Select all unselected design strips and deselect the currently selected strips.

Prev: Restore the previously selected design strips.

Load case/Combination: Select the prestress force condition for which results are to be displayed.

Select Type: Specify the selection method used to filter design strips.

Add: Add the selected items to the current selection set.

Delete: Remove the selected items from the current selection set.

Replace: Replace the current selection with the newly selected items.

Intersect: Retain only items that exist in both the current and newly selected sets.

Reset: Restore all selection settings to their default values.

OK: Generate the Tendon Primary Force Table using the specified selections.

Cancel: Close the dialog without generating the table.

Load case/Combination

Select the load combination to be displayed in tables for Tendon Primary Forces:

Short Term: Displays tendon primary forces immediately after prestress transfer, considering short-term prestress losses.

Long Term: Displays the tendon's primary forces at the long-term stage after considering time-dependent losses of prestressing steel under service conditions.

Table: Result – [Design Strip Stress]

The generated table contains the following stress components for the selected design strip locations:

Design Strip: Identification number of the design strip from which the results are extracted.

Story: Story level containing the design strip.

Dir.: Direction of the design strip (X or Y).

Load: Load case or load combination associated with the results.

Span: Span number associated with the strip location.

Design Section: Design section number along the strip where the stress results are reported.

Axial (kips): Axial force acting along the design strip at the design section.

Shear-y (kips): Shear force acting in the local y-direction at the design section.

Shear-z (kips): Shear force acting in the local z-direction at the design section.

Torsion (in-kips): Torsional moment acting about the longitudinal axis of the design strip at the design section.

Moment-y (in-kips): Bending moment acting about the local y-axis at the design section.

Moment-z (in-kips): Bending moment acting about the local z-axis at the design section.
