Bulk Tabular Result Exporter

Intro

Extracting model data and analysis results from a bridge model is rarely a single table. A typical report needs nodes, elements, and sections from the pre-processing side, then reactions, beam forces, displacements, and stresses across several load combinations and construction stages. Each table must normally be selected, configured, exported by hand, and then reassembled into one workbook.

The Bulk Tabular Result Exporter turns that process into a single operation. Every required table is defined once as a job, previewed against the live model, and written to its own worksheet in one structured Excel file. The complete selection can also be saved as a reusable preset for the next model or the next revision.

Developed with

  • MIDAS CIVIL NX 2026 (v1.1.0)

Benefits of this plugin

  • One workbook, every table — export pre-processing model data and post-processing results together. Each job is written to its own clearly named worksheet, while a Contents & Export Log sheet records what was requested and what was returned.
  • Complete table coverage — access more than 100 guided model-data endpoints and every built-in result table. Any DB Table and Any Result Table modes provide access to tables not included in the guided catalogue.
  • Model-aware selection — structure groups, construction stages, and analysed step labels are read directly from the connected model, so filters are selected from actual model data rather than entered from memory.
  • Report-ready output — units are included in column headers, headers are styled, column widths are adjusted automatically, AutoFilter is applied, numeric values remain numeric, and IDs are preserved as text.
  • Repeatable workflow — save the complete table selection as a preset and restore it in a later session, on a revised model, or in the next project with one action.

How to use this plugin?

  1. Choose the table source.
Switch between Pre-processing for model data and Post-processing for analysis results.
  2. Add table jobs.
Search the catalogue, select a table, and add it. Each job becomes one worksheet, and as many jobs as required can be added to the report.
  3. Configure the job.
Select only the required result components, filter by node IDs, element IDs, a numeric range, or a structure group, and enter load cases and combinations using their MIDAS suffixes.

  4. Set construction stages when required.
Read the saved construction stages from the model and select the exact steps to export.
  5. Set units and precision.
Define the force unit, length unit, number format, and decimal places for each job.
  6. Preview the result.
Check the returned columns and data against the live model before creating the workbook.
  7. Export all to Excel.
Every enabled job is extracted and written to one workbook. A failed job does not discard successful jobs, and the failure message is recorded in the export log.
  8. Save the preset.
Save the complete selection as a .mrxpreset.json file and reload it whenever the same set of tables is required again.

Conclusion

The Bulk Tabular Result Exporter removes the repetitive, error-prone part of reporting: selecting the same tables, entering the same filters, and merging the same spreadsheets for every model revision.

Define the workbook once, preview it against the model, and reproduce it in seconds whenever the analysis changes. This leaves the engineer's time for interpreting results rather than collecting them.
