Question
When CIM is installed and run, an authentication related error message appears.
(Ex. Error Message : Unknown error has occurred while checking license.)
Answer
Change the privileges of the CIM installation account to administrator privileges and install.
In the process of installing CIM, some files necessary for program execution are not installed due to the security level of the account or the security program intermittently.
As a result, the program may not run normally.
(Authentication-related error messages are mainly caused by the level of the account.)
Problems caused by security programs can be solved simply by shutting down the security program. But, in the case of an account's security level, the account's security level must be temporarily changed to an account with administrator privileges.
1. Change the privileges of the account to use CIM
(from Standard User to Administrator)
1) Log in with an account with administrator privileges
2) Start – Setting – Accounts – Other users
3) Select the account you want to use CIM for
4) Click ‘change account type’
5) Change ‘Account type’ to ‘Administrator’
6) Log out of account with administrator privileges
2. Log in to the account you want to use CIM and install CIM
3. Recover account privileges and run CIM
1) Log in with an account with administrator privileges
2) Recover the privileges of the account that was elevated to administrator privileges
(Change to standard user privilege)
3) Log in to the account you want to use CIM for
4) Run CIM and verify authentication
