Question
Can I use all versions of a product on a single PC when I have multiple versions?
Answer
When you want to install and use multiple versions on a PC, you can do so by changing the installation folder name or path.
The MIDAS program is designed to automatically remove the previously installed version and install the new version when installing. If you want to install and use multiple versions, you need to change the installation path that is already entered so that the previously installed program is not deleted. It is also a good idea to distinguish them by adding the version number after the folder name where the program is installed.
1. Rename the folder name of the previously installed program. (Ex. CIVIL_V7xx / CIVIL_V8xx / CIVIL_V9xx)
Program | Default installation path |
---|---|
CIVIL | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
CIM | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
CAD INFRA-DESIGN | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
FEA NX | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
2. Download and install additional programs by checking the [Installation] How to install the program.
1) The contents and notifications may vary depending on the program, but a prompt asking whether to remove the previous version will appear. Click the [No] button and proceed with the installation.
2) Most of the steps during installation are essential for the operation of the MIDAS program and must be completed without exception to use it.
3. After installation, change the folder name of the newly installed program. (Ex. CIVIL_V7xx / CIVIL_V8xx / CIVIL_V9xx)
Program | Default Installation Path |
---|---|
CIVIL | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
CIM | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
CAD INFRA-DESIGN | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
FEA NX | C:\Program Files\MIDAS |
When running the program in Onedesk, the latest installed version will be set to run. Please keep this in mind when proceeding with the program installation.
