Longitudinal Resistance Data / Transverse Resistance Data

Ud (Lateral Limited Displacement) : Lateral Limited Displacement

Fmax (For Stress Check) : Resistance of Ballast used in stress check

Fmax (For Displacement Check)

Resistance of Ballast used in displacement check

For the case of Ballast Bed, resistance of ballast is differently applied in stress check model and displacement check model when verifying temperature load.

NOTE.png If the unit of Resistance of Ballast force by unit length (ex. KN/m). Therefore, proper effective length is automatically multiplied to calculate the stiffness of Multi-Linear Elastic Link.

Define Condition

Ballast type is defined between Ballast Bed and Concrete Bed.

Advanced... : Ballast type is defined between Ballast Bed and Concrete Bed.

Boundary

Spring Type : Pier sections are not directly used in modelling but supports and point spring supports are used. For roller boundary conditions, Dz, Rx, and Rz are restrained. The value defined in Transverse Stiffness is used for the point spring stiffness in the SDy direction, while the SDx direction is assigned zero stiffness.

Bearing Type : Longitudinal and Transverse stiffness of bearing can be entered.

Elastic Link Data

Longitudinal : Enter Longitudinal stiffness data of bearing

Transverse : Enter Transverse stiffness data of bearing

Advanced... : Horizontal stiffness can be differently assigned per deck.

Elastic Link Length : Elastic Link Length can be entered as well, which represent the height of the support.

Advanced... : Longitudinal and transverse stiffness can be assigned differently depending on the bearing location of the deck.

Pier Data : Pier section and pier height can be defined and the support condition at the bottom of pier can be defined either Fixed or Sprint Support.

Advanced Pier Data : Users can select each deck and input the pier data.

Section : Set the section for each pier

Material : Set the material for each pier

Height : Set the height for each pier

Fixed : Set the restraint condition for the bottom of each pier. If "Fixed" is unchecked, the spring stiffness will be activated, allowing input of stiffness values for horizontal and rotational directions.

Select : Each pier has a section where the deck ends and a section where the deck begins. And select the deck information to assign to the pier data.
