[Installation] How to Reinstall GEN

I'm curious about the method of reinstalling GEN after deleting it.

If essential modules required for the operation of GEN are missing or corrupted during the initial installation, it is necessary to uninstall the program and delete all related data before reinstalling it. Similarly, if you want to install a new version, you will need to remove all previous versions of the program as well.

Additionally, during the installation process, certain essential modules necessary for the operation or execution of the program may be missing or corrupted due to security issues on the user's PC. To prevent this, it is recommended to disable antivirus software and firewall before the installation and perform Windows updates. Windows updates are a good way to address system errors, including security issues on the computer. While it may be difficult to determine direct correlations between specific errors that occur during Windows updates and the installation of MIDAS program, it has a positive impact on overall system security and error resolution.

Lastly, it is recommended to close and uninstall other applications, including Microsoft Office, that are integrated with the MIDAS program before reinstalling. Running other applications may interfere with the installation process of MIDAS program, so it is best to close all applications before proceeding.

1. Delete GEN

For a successful reinstallation, it is important to thoroughly remove the existing GEN installation. This ensures that there are no errors during the module installation process.

Uninstalling GEN program from Control Panel:

1) Type 'Control Panel' in the taskbar search box and run it.

Execute the 'Uninstall a program' screen and remove GEN.

Deleting GEN folder from C drive:

1) Type 'File Explorer' in the taskbar search box and run it.

2) Navigate to the GEN path (C:\Program Files\MIDAS) and delete the GEN folder.

If the program still appears in the Control Panel or cannot be removed properly even after taking the aforementioned steps, you can use a forced uninstallation program to delete it.

2. Install GEN

Remove the previously installed GEN and then reinstall it.

install GEN

Run the installation file (setup.exe) to install GEN.

1) By using GEN Install URL Download the GEN installation file from the website.

2) Right-click on the downloaded compressed folder and choose "Open with Windows Explorer" to proceed with the extraction.

3) Right-click on the Setup file within the extracted folder and select "Run as administrator."

4) Most of the steps during the GEN installation are necessary for installing essential programs for GEN operation. Make sure to complete them without exception.

5) Run the installed GEN to confirm its functionality.

While it is possible to install the program using different methods or alternative steps than those provided above, it may not cause any issues for usage. However, running the program without a fully configured environment may lead to various errors at any time. In such cases, you may need to repeat the process of uninstalling and reinstalling the program, which can be cumbersome. We recommend following the initial installation steps mentioned above to avoid any inconvenience.
