[MIDAS Connector] Getting Started

Introduction

This article introduces the new features for CIVIL NX and MS Excel. MIDAS Connector is a tool that allows you to transfer data in CIVIL NX or MS Excel in an efficient way. In the beginning, MIDAS Connector has a data importer feature to bring results data from CIVIL NX to MS Excel.

Adding MIDAS Connector in MS Excel

MIDAS Connector is an add-in that can be added to MS Excel. You can add the MIDAS Connector through the Office Add-ins Store. You can find it on the Add-ins in the Home tab(Excel > Home > Add-ins).

MIDAS Connector can be found under the Home menu bar after the installation. Hit the CONNECTOR button to get started.

When you click the MIDAS Connector it will show the gate view below. Click the "Click here to continue" button to run the feature.

MIDAS Members Login

You will see the login webpage of MIDAS Members when you click the ‘Click here to continue’ button. You need an account of MIDAS Members to use MIDAS Connector. First, log in to MIDAS Members. If you don't have a MIDAS Members account, click the link here.

And you need to get authentication from the MIDAS API server. Just click the Accept button to get the authentication.

Activation of API connection

After logging in, click the drop button at the left top corner. Click Settings. Here, you can activate the API connection by entering the API Key. You can find the API Key on CIVIL NX. Run CIVIL NX to get the API Key.

After running CIVIL NX, move onto the Apps tab on the menu bar and click API Settings.

Click the Connect button to connect to the API server.

After that, copy the MAPI-key by clicking the Copy button.

Go back to the MIDAS Connector. Paste the MAPI-Key into the text box under the API Key and click the Check button. You may see the status after checking the API connection.

Lastly, click the Apply button below to connect the MIDAS connector to CIVIL NX. You will see the green circle symbol at the right top corner if the MIDAS connector is connected to the program.
