[MIDAS Connector] Result Image

Introduction

This article introduces the new features for CIVIL NX and MS Excel. MIDAS Connector is a tool that allows you to transfer data in CIVIL NX or MS Excel in an efficient way. In the beginning, MIDAS Connector has a data importer feature to bring results data from CIVIL NX to MS Excel.

Overview

The Result Image feature imports captured images from CIVIL NX into a cell. A user can make data sets and import them at once. If the images change in CIVIL NX, the user needs only to click the update button to import new data without any changes to the data sets. The Result Image feature contains the same option as the Result Table feature.

The basic procedure is

1) Generate a Dynamic Report Image item in CIVIL NX.

2) Select a cell where the data will be imported.

3) Select an Import Type.

4) Select an item on the list or enter the data.

5) Select a folder to make a dataset or create a new one.

6) Import the data to the Excel sheet.

7) If any changes occur in the model, click the import button to update.

 

Note

Before getting started, you need to read the article "Getting Started". MIDAS Connector and CIVIL NX must be opened to follow the instructions below.

 

 

How to use it 

Settings in a model file

The Result Image feature can import captured images from CIVIL NX. You need to generate a Dynamic Report Image before importing data. Follow the below steps.

1) Set a model view or result diagrams.

2) Right-click on model view.

3) Click the "Dynamic Report Image".

4) Enter the name and click the OK button.

5) You can find the saved dynamic report image on the Report tab of the Tree Menu.

Using Result Image

Move onto the MIDAS Connector and open the Result Table feature. Follow the steps below to import data.

 

1) Select a cell as a reference position. MIDAS Connector displays the name of a selected sheet and cell.

2) Select the Select type for the Import Type. In this article, The Saved Image is selected.

3) Click the blank in the box and enter the name. After that, click the plus button to add a folder. If there are existing folders, you can select one among them.

4) Click the "Add To Folder" button. The selected data will be added to the folder.

5) To import data to the cell, click the "All Table Import & Update" button.

Note

You can import data as a unit of data or a folder unit. Just click on the option button of an item. The option provides 3 features(Run, Modify, and Delete)

Query Type in Import Type

The query type allows you to import data with JSON code. The manual for the JSON command is being prepared.
