Overview
โข Directly opens the InfoX Sheet (Excel) file created by Generate within CIM to browse and edit information, and batch-applies object names (Name) modified in Excel to the CIM model.
Open Link : Directly opens the InfoX Sheet created by Generate within CIM. When additional information is entered in the User Sheet (PROP/QTY) and saved, it is immediately reflected in CIM.
Update Object Name : Batch-updates object names modified in the 6 Basic Property Sheets to the CIM model.
โข Previously, object names could be changed through individual property windows or the Assign function. However, by using the Object Name in the InfoX Sheet, you can identify and rename a large number of objects individually, quickly and accurately.
โขย Object names are a core attribute used throughout structural information management, including model management, quantity calculation, and IFC integration.

The InfoX Sheet opened via Open Link is connected to CIM in real time.ย

This function is different from [Base] Tab > [Export] Group > Xls > Information Data.ย
Xls Export saves a separate Excel file independent of CIM, and any modifications made after saving are not reflected in CIM.

Description
Open Link Function
The InfoX Sheet created by Generate can be opened directly within CIM.
It quickly loads the most recently generated file without the need to browse through a file explorer, and the InfoX Sheet and CIM are linked in real time while open.

โข Real-time Linking
When information is entered in the User Sheet (PROP / QTY) of the InfoX Sheet opened via Open Link and saved, the data is immediately reflected in CIM.
The reflected information can be verified by selecting an object and checking the Field Viewer.

Open Link only works when an InfoX Sheet created by Generate exists.ย
If the InfoX Sheet has not yet been created, please execute the Generate function first to create the file.

Update Object Name Function
Batch-updates object names modified in the 6 Basic Property Sheets of the InfoX Sheet (MEMBER / TENDON / STIFFENER / BOLT / LAYOUT / ETC(TERRAIN) to the CIM model.
The 6 Object Category information sheets do not allow editing by default, but modifications are permitted only in the Name column.
Since objects are identified based on IFCGUID, you can accurately confirm the target object through its ID before changing the name.

Select the object types whose names will be updated. Multiple target types can be selected using checkboxes, enabling selective updates per sheet.

The existing Assign function batch-assigns names to objects that meet the same conditions.ย
In contrast, Update Object Name identifies objects individually based on their Excel ID to change names, making it suitable for precisely assigning different names to individual members or quickly modifying and managing a large number of object names.

How to Check Object ID
Before modifying the Name in the Excel file, you can check the ID of the target object in advance through the Worktree.

โข Worktree > Object Tab
In the Object tab of the Worktree panel, all objects in the model are displayed in a hierarchical structure by type.
Each object entry is labeled in ID : Name format, allowing direct comparison with the ID column in Excel.
Hovering the mouse over an object entry in the Worktree highlights the corresponding member in the viewport, enabling visual confirmation of the target object.

The Name column in the Basic Property Sheet is the only editable item in the Excel output file.ย
After making modifications, save the file and execute Update Object Name to batch-apply the changes to the CIM model.ย
Other identification columns such as IFCGUID / ID cannot be modified.

How to Use Open Link and Update Object Name
โ Click Information > Open Link to open the InfoX Sheet created by Generate.
โก Enter the required information in the User Sheet (PROP / QTY) and save. The data is reflected in CIM immediately upon saving and can be verified in the Field Viewer.
โข To change an object name, check the ID of the target object in the Object tab of the Worktree. Hover over the entry to visually review the target member in the viewport.
โฃ In the corresponding Basic Property Sheet of the InfoX Sheet, modify the Name column value in the row matching that ID.
โค Save the Excel file.
โฅ Return to CIM and click Information > Update Object Name.
โฆ Select the object types to update in Update Category, then click the Confirm (โ) button.

Name changes applied through Update Object Name are reflected throughout CIM, including the Field Viewer, Worktree, and IFC Export.ย
