Function
Create post-tensioning tendons for slab systems using the selected layout arrangement, predefined tendon properties, tendon profiles, and tendon stressing conditions.
Call
From the Main Menu
select [Post Tension] tab > [Tendon] group > [Create Tendon] > [Create Tendon (Slab)]
Input
Click the (...) button next to Create Tendon (Slab) in the Tree Menu to navigate to the Tendon Table.
Tendon Property
Select the tendon property to be assigned to the tendon.
Tendon Profile
Select the tendon profile to be assigned to the tendon.
Tendon Stressing
Select the tendon stressing condition to be assigned to the tendon.
Layout Type
Select the tendon layout arrangement to be used for creating the tendon profile.
Single
Creates a single tendon along the selected tendon path.
Direction
Select the direction in which the tendon will be generated.
X-Direction: Creates tendons along the global X-direction.
Y-Direction: Creates tendons along the global Y-direction.
Method
Select the method used to define the tendon path.
By Selecting Support Lines: Creates tendons by selecting pre-defined support lines.
By Selecting Nodes: Creates tendons by selecting nodes from the model.
Offset
Specify the distance between the generated tendon and the selected tendon path, measured with respect to the selected nodes path or support lines.
Banded
Creates a group of closely spaced tendons concentrated within a specified region of the slab.
Direction
Select the direction in which the tendon will be generated.
X-Direction: Creates tendons along the global X-direction.
Y-Direction: Creates tendons along the global Y-direction.
Band Width
Specify the width of the tendon band measured based on the tendon direction. The specified width is used to distribute the tendons within the banded region.
No. of Tendons
Specify the number of tendons to be generated within the band width.
Auto
Automatically determines the number of tendons based on the specified prestressing requirements and tendon properties.
When the Auto option is enabled, the software automatically calculates the required number of tendons based on the specified Effective Force per Tendon, Self-weight Balancing Ratio, and Precompression Level. The number of tendons is selected to satisfy the specified prestressing requirements.
Effective Force per Tendon: Displays the effective prestressing force available in each tendon after accounting for all applicable prestress losses.
Self-weight Balancing Ratio: Specifies the percentage of the slab self-weight to be balanced by the equivalent upward load generated by the prestressing tendons.
Precompression Level: Specify the minimum average compressive stress to be induced in the concrete section due to prestressing.
Distributed
Creates tendons distributed across the design strip width using the specified offset. Multiple tendons can be generated simultaneously with respect to the selected support lines or nodes with different offsets.
Direction
Select the direction in which the tendon will be generated.
X-Direction: Creates tendons along the global X-direction.
Y-Direction: Creates tendons along the global Y-direction.
Arrangement
Select the method used to distribute tendons between the defined tendon boundaries.
By Spacing: Specify the center-to-center spacing between tendons; the software automatically determines the required number of tendons.
No. of Tendons: Specify the number of tendons to be distributed; the software automatically calculates the spacing between them.
Method
Select the method used to define the tendon path.
By Selecting Support Lines: Creates tendons by selecting pre-defined support lines.
By Selecting Nodes: Creates tendons by selecting nodes from the model.
Line 1
Select the first support line or node path defining the tendon distribution boundary.
Line 2
Select the second support line or node path defining the tendon distribution boundary.
Offset
Specify the offset distances from Line 1 and Line 2 to define the tendon distribution limits relative to the selected support lines or node paths.
Apply
Click Apply to create the tendons using the specified input parameters.
