Question
How to edit the co-ordinate annotation in CAD ID?
Answer
Let's consider that we have already generated the coordinate annotation of a point in the drawing view using the 'Coordinate Annotation' Option available under 'Infra-Design' Ribbon>Annotation' option.
For those who want to understand the process of generating the coordinate annotation option in CAD ID, you may click on this link.
So in our case, the default coordinate annotation has already been generated for the top left corner point of the pier as shown in the image below.
In the above image, we have the X, Y, and Elevation values of the coordinate. Let's consider a scenario where we need to display only the Elevation of that point while removing the X and Y coordinates. The following steps shall guide you in this process.
1. Click on the 'Infra-Design' Ribbon.
2. From the drop-down menu, click on the 'Style' option.
3. Next Click on the 'Coordinate Annotation Style' Option.
Now, the 'Coordinate Annotation Style' dialog box will be displayed. The coordinate annotation style can be modified by adjusting the available options in this dialog box.
Now, we need to remove the X and Y coordinates from the default coordinate annotation. The details displayed in the coordinate annotation are specified under the 'Text1,' 'Text2,' and 'Text3' options. 'Text1' represents the first line displayed in the coordinate annotation. Similarly, 'Text2' and 'Text3' represent the 2nd and 3rd lines of the coordinate annotation. A preview of the coordinate annotation is shown in the bottom section of the 'Coordinate Annotation Style' dialog box.
4. To remove the X coordinate from the annotation, the "X=" [X] text will be highlighted by default, as shown in the image below. Press the Delete key to remove it.
After this, you will notice that the X value has been removed from the preview, as highlighted in the image below.
5. Now click on 'Text2' tab.
6. Delete the "Y=" [Y] text and you will notice that the Y value has been removed from the preview.
7. Click on 'OK' Tab.
8. Click on the 'All Style update' option under the 'Infra-Design' ribbon.
Now, you will notice that the X and Y coordinates have been removed from the coordinate annotation.
Similarly, you can modify the coordinate annotation according to your requirements.
